Toddler Climbing Toys

When should a toddler be walking on his own without support?

My son is 15 and half months now and from 10 months, he has been walking around holding on to the wall, the chair, or his toys. From 2 months he has been walking side to side holding on to my one hand and even a pinky.. I take him to the store or in the park, and he does fine holding on to just me one finger, he waslks side by side with me. And then the moment you let him go, sometimes he stands up and other times he takes maybe 2 or she steps waddling, and then he will sit down or crawl. And from 3 months, my son has been climbing the wooden stairs at home. We were at my parents place a few weeks ago and he learned to step up to climb steps…initially he was using his knees, but now even at our house with 14 wooden stairs, he gets up with his feet like us adults and goes up the stairs. I am surprised as to how strong his leg muscles are when he goes up, versus him walking and the moment we let go, he wants to sit down? You think he will pick up the walking soon?

Every kid is different.
Don’t worry about your boy.
He’s obviously got all the
basics, it’s just a matter of
time.
There will be something he
wants bad enough one day
to just take off!
Then there will be NO holding
him back. Your in for a real
hand full once he does start!
Hope you’ve got good walking
shoes to keep up with him!
Have fun mom.
