Tree Climbing Spikes
Best method to climp large tree, such as pine?
I need a way to climb a large tree, like a pine, that has high limbs and a thick trunk. I figured pines would be easier to climb due to the fact that their bark (and even the other parts of the tree also) are fairly soft. By thick trunk, I mean one that you just barely reach your arms all the way around. I saw on Mythbusters (the one where they see if a ninja could walk on water) that the guy they got their info from had some things he put on his hands that had spikes and I wondered if you could use it for tree climbing. But any method, even unconventional ones, using rope, anything, please let me know! Thanks in advance!
A ladder is the best method.
Spurs and ropes take training to use without killing yourself. You’d be better off tossing a rope into the canopy and use ascenders.
