Anyone in Houston doing recreational tree climbing?
Let me clarify: so true climbing trees with a good pair of shoes and nothing else is fun. I am interested in the recreational sport for big, tall trees, where the climber utilizes, for safety, harnesses, special ropes, ascender devices, DRT and SRT. What fun it was as a young feller to climb trees naturally! But now I need help so I don’t break something, or multiple somethings.
Check out the Sherrill Tree Care website. They have (literally) tons of gear as well as all kinds of resources for recreational and working tree climbers. I myself like the little book “The Tree Climber’s Companion”. It has lots of detailed explanations and illustrations to help you out.
Tree climbing is the most fun I’ve ever had and been paid for.
