Mountains to climb/hike near northern New Jersey?

Im looking to get into some easy mountain climbing or just hiking up a mountain really. Nothing too technical, but the climb can be strenuous. Just no ropes or equipment. If anyone knows of some good peaks near northern NJ, it would be appreciated. Thanks!
Also, Im not looking to do any winter, snowy climbs. So peaks that would be good in the summer. Thanks!
Eventually I would like to get into rock climbing but want to start of slowly.

good suggestions from other posters so I won’t repeat them. Delaware water gap has some great non-tech climbs with great views also look into joining the AMC or one of the other local outdoor clubs great places to start. AMC web site http://www.outdoors.org

From This American Life alumnus Rakoff comes a hilarious collection of essays that single-handedly raises self-deprecation to an art form. 4 CDs. From the Publisher: You’ve heard him on This American Life! Now listen to his book!Wherever he is, David Rakoff is a fish out of water. Whether impersonating Sigmund Freud in a department store window during the holidays, climbing an icy mountain in cheap loafers, playing an evil modeling agent on a daytime soap opera, or learning primitive survival skills in the wilds of New Jersey, Rakoff doesn’t belong. Nor does he try to. Still, he continually finds himself off in the far-flung hinterlands of our culture, notebook or microphone in hand, hoping to conjure that dyed-in-the-wool New York condescension. And Rakoff tries to be nasty; heaven knows nothing succeeds like the cheap sneer, but he can’t quite help noticing that these are actual human beings he’s writing about. In his attempts not to pull any punches, the most damaging blows, more often than not, land squarely on his own jaw–hilariously satirizing the writer, not the subject. And therein lies David Rakoff’s genius and his burgeoning appeal. The wry and the heartfelt join in his prose to resurrect that most neglected of literary virtues: wit.Listem to the blurbs again. They signal the arrival of a brilliant new American essayist. (Okay, Canadian.) AUTHOR BIOGRAPHY David Rakoff is a regular contributor to Salon, Outside magazine, and PRI’s This American Life, and has written for the New York Times Magazine, GQ, Esquire, Harper’s Bazaar, New York Observer, and many other publications. He lives in New York City.

 Gary Go

Gary Go

$12.48

After leaving school at 17, Gary worked at a string of record companies and recording studios, like Eurythmic Dave Stewart’s Artist Network. Gary even interviewed for a job at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios, but was told by Gabriel himself that maybe he should concentrate on songwriting. Luckily, Gary took his advice. He traveled to America, where he worked at a New Jersey recording studio and rented a room in Frank Sinatra’s old house in Hoboken – there he composed many of the songs that appear on Gary Go. Gary now brings bona fide pop hits to the US. Having just completed tours with two of Britain’s all time best selling bands Take That and Lady Gaga, Gary is on his way to the US. Wonderful the first single is already climbing the pop charts at radio after topping the charts in the UK and Italy!
