Climbing Mount

How would one go about defecating while climbing Mount Everest or other mountains at high altitudes/low temps?

it might sound funny but actualy it`s a kinda hard procedure:D. firs of all it depends on where u r on the route.in base camp it`s a matter of finding some privacy….in camp1(or abc) which is on the glacier it`s a matter of finding privacy and avoiding to fall in a creavas…in C3(nepal route) which is on the lhotse face it`s a lot harder: first of all belay your self to a secure anchor point and get your self to the edge of the deck that the tent is erected on and do it as fast as u can cos the cold wind really hurts! puting on the crampons is a smart decision to provide safety.privacy is not as important as it is in the lower camps cos the safety comes first.a couple people had lost their lives in C3 bcos of this. in C4 it`s just wind and sever cold that u have to be beware of cos C4 actualy is a vast camp area(comparing to C3) and safe be cos you r on rock not on the snow or ice(wind sweepes almost all of the snow in C4)this is the last stop for defecating , cos above this it`s gonna be a real mission impossible to do that.(ultimate cold and steep ridge climbing plus wind and it`s a like doing it in the midle of a crowd and narrow street :D )in all the high camps cold is a consideration specially at nights(temperatures drops to -25 down to -35 with wind that increases the frost effect) but almost all the technical outfit (pants) have been designed to make it easy to answer the call of the nature :D . and one more thing is that in high altitude climbes most of the people experience Constipation so u gotta add this to the problems………have fun

A Life on the Edge: Memoirs of Everest and Beyond

A Life on the Edge: Memoirs of Everest and Beyond

$12.72

There have been many firsts in Jim Whittaker’s life. He was the first North American to summit Mount Everest. As the first manager and employee, and ultimately the CEO, of fledgling Recreational Equipment, Inc. (REI), he guided the company through years of record-setting growth. He guided Bobby Kennedy up the newly named Mount Kennedy, helping him to become the first person to summit the Canadian peak. He led the historic International Peace Climb, which put climbers from the U.S., Russia, and China on the summit of Everest in the name of world peace.Jim Whittaker’s achievement on Everest and his many successes before and after are the natural outcome of a life driven by a passion for outdoor adventure combined with strong leadership qualities and a commitment to making a difference. This honest, revealing autobiography features all the major events in Whittaker’s life: his formative years spent climbing with his twin brother Lou; the creation of REI and years of work growing the company; his intimate friendship with the Kennedys and the new world into which he was launched after his success on Everest; his major expeditions on K2 and Everest; a business partnership that resulted in bankruptcy; a failed marriage; a new marriage and a new family; and his new challenges beyond the mountains. In A Life on the Edge, readers will discover a true hero — someone who tells his story not to boast or preach but to share his love of the environment and outdoor adventure and to inspire others to seek challenges in their own lives.

A State of Laughter: Comic Fiction from Alabama

$16.95

Fiction. Don Noble follows up on his immensely popular Climbing Mount Cheaha to produce another anthology of Alabama fiction–comic, this time. The collection includes the following writers: Caroline Haines, Jack Pendarvis, William Cobb, Brad Watson, Barry Hannah, Wendy Reed, Lee Smith, Michael Knight, Pat Meyer, Bart Barton, Madison Jones, Dan Wallace, Suzanne Hudson, Joe Formicella, Joe Taylor, Eugene Walter, Truman Capote, and Michelle Richmond. I didn”t know there were this many funny Alabamians, well, except maybe in an election season. But because of A STATE OF LAUGHTER, I now know what a bugle head is, that an old woman can do a lot of damage with a 14-inch hog knife, and that–when arrested for soliciting–it is hard to keep both hands on your head and step out of a car, even when the police tell you to –Rick Bragg.
