Good mountain in midwest to learn to climb on?
What is a good way to learn to mountain climb in the midwest? Is their schools in states around Kansas? What is a good beginner mountain particularly in Colorado? (If all this can be done in Colorado I would prefer there as it is not to far from where I live)
Hire a guide or go to a climbing school. There are tons of these in Colorado. Typically you don’t learn to climb by climbing a route on a mountain, unless you are with a guide who is teaching you. Also depends on what kind of climbing you are looking for. Are you new to backpacking? Do you have any technical skills? Are you looking for a rock/ice climb or just a snowy uphill hike?
