Bicycle Climbing Block

Did I grow up in the “City” or “Country”? Will you decide from the description?

As a child I played in the orchard climbing trees and building forts with my best-friend Jimmy. We played hide-and-seek in the cornfield and even ate the corn raw from the cob so we wouldn’t get stuck at home cleaning our rooms after lunch. I was allowed to ride my bike 8 blocks down our subdivision and not allowed to cross the street up one block with a traffic signal. When I was 16, I rode my bike (bicycle) to where I worked as a farm hand, either the horse stable or the dairy ranch- doing what was needed. On the weekends, me and my friends would take the train downtown Chicago and go to the museums and walk Lakeshore Drive or create chalk drawings, or sometimes hit a dance club even gorge at The Taste of Chicago.

Did I grow up country or city?

Hmmm lets consider everything you mentioned above.

Country:

Orchard
Cornfield
Farmhand at a horsestable or dairy ranch

City:

Subdivision
Chicago

Since you had to take the train just to hit a club i’d be more inclined to say that your grew up in the country, but it’s possible that you were somewhere in between. Where I come from in Indiana it’s all mixed in. There are huge mega shopping malls, clubs, restaurants and movie theatres which come together to create a sprawling urban environment. But all you have to do is drive in the right direction for about 7 minutes before you hit corn.
